This September has had an unseasonable amount of rain, and a typhoon, so I haven’t been able to get out as much as I wanted. Last week, the weather took a turn for the better, so I spent a few days at a pond where I was able to observe and photograph some of the inhabitants. Also, last night there was a gorgeous, waxing crescent moon.

Thanks for visiting!
Tom,
The two photos of the white birds are simply stunning! Gorgeous moon too. Cute video (Dinkie!) Now how the heck can that turtle in the photo crawl on that log?

The Little Egret was in the shade and the background was in sun, so the edges of the egret were blown out, but in this case it made for an interesting composition.
Ha! Little Dinkie! Self preservation gave him the balance he needed to get up that branch.

Hi Tom 😄
Thank you for your great photos.
I went to Amakusa in Kumamoto on last Sunday ,and then I saw that nice crescent moon, too. The moon was going to sink beneath the horizon ,so that it was orange .That was the first time for me . I was very happy 😊
